A Proper Bachelorette Party in New Orleans

Six reasons why you should have a Bachelorette in New Orleans. And why it’s possible not to make it all about partying.

1. Never a dull moment!

You don’t have to stay up until 4:00AM Saturday night to party (if you don’t want to).  Prefer day drinking on Saturday afternoon or partaking in a Sunday morning boozy brunch instead? You’re in luck!  You’ll be surrounded by other revelers and bachelor/bachelorette parties at any hour which means being social and getting some sleep won’t be a problem!

2. Instagram friendly

The public squares and parks are surrounded by the beautiful Live Oak Trees, and the Creole style cottages or townhouses are picture perfect backgrounds for group photos (and some spontaneous dance parties with all the awesome street music)! Jackson Square, Charles Street and the French Quarter will do the trick!

3. There’s time to relax!

Because the weather is warm year round (and hot during the summer!) many of the hotels have pools or you can get a day pass: looking at you Ace Hotel!  For a spa day, the Bella Wind Down option for groups at Bella Donna Day Spa will have you feeling pampered and ready to hit the town.  Bring picnic supplies for a lunch and nap in picturesque City Park or Audubon Park. Or take a leisurely Mississippi River cruise on one of the Paddlewheeler boats.

4. The MOH can take a breather

Let someone else take control!  Tours are plentiful in New Orleans.  Let a local lead the “krewe” on a walking, biking or bus-driven tour to discover the fascinating history of the city.  Some favorites include: Garden District Walking Tour, Spooky Ghost/Voodoo Tour, Food Tour or Bayou Kayak Tour.

5. Walkable city

It’s a breeze to get around the city! Almost everything is within walking distance around the French Quarter. Or hop on the Streetcar line that is an easy and fun way to see the Garden District.  The best part?  You can bring a beverage (in a plastic cup) to-go for a unique sip and stroll experience!

6. Hangover food central

There’s no shortage of Chicken and Waffles or Eggs with buttery biscuits in New Orleans. And don’t underestimate the power of a beignet and coffee.  The food scene in general is incredible and there’s something for everyone. Click here for a list of must-eat options.
