Where to Next?
If you’re the person who always likes to have a trip planned, I sympathize with you. It’s something to look forward to and motivation to get through some long days. When wanderlust kicks in, these are the steps I usually go through.
- Do you have friends in other states or abroad you haven’t seen recently?
- Do you want a vacation or an adventure?
- Hot or cold climate?
- Can you convince friends to join or is this a solo trip?
- And if so, do you feel comfortable going on your own or would you need a tour group?
- What is the budget?
- How much time do you have?
Once narrowed down, check out the deals online here: google.com/flights., or according to Frommer’s, Skiplagged.com also finds best deals on the internet in 2020. Type in the origin, dates that could work and a max budget. This will give you a map for everything that falls in that category. If you scroll across the map, it will update based on your requirements and let you know what other destinations are included.
Check the calendar in that country/city, just to make sure nothing crazy is happening at that time. It could be hurricane season, or you could end up in San Diego during Comic Con…
Once you’ve found deals online, whether its for hotel or flights, always call to speak to a representative. In 2020, only 52% of available options are online. You’re also more likely to get extra deals or perks speaking to someone directly.

Do your research but don’t overthink it! Once it’s booked, that’s when the fun begins.
